We’ve enhanced our sanitization and safety protocols and created a designated COVID-19 Operations task force to monitor new guidelines and establish new procedures based on updated guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).As an individual mode of transportation, e-scooters offer a safe alternative to ride sharing, public transit, and – in some cases – even a shared family car. With the proper precautions, shared e-scooters are one of the lowest-risk ways to get around.
As a precautionary measure, wash or sanitize your hands before and after each ride. Gloves can also be worn as an additional preventative measure.
Always wear a mask when riding Spin.
Per social distancing recommendations, maintain six feet of distance between yourself and others.
Always follow local government and health orders when riding.
Our Central Safety team has implemented a standard operating procedure for cleaning scooters. Scooters are disinfected every time they are brought back to our warehouse to recharge or when rebalanced in the field. The main points of contact -- the handlebars and stem -- and cleaned with disinfectant wipes and spray.
High traffic surfaces in our warehouses and in vehicles used to deploy and collect scooters are scrubbed down with disinfectant after every shift. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, face shields or safety glasses and cloth masks.
Riders are informed about our safety and sanitization procedures via email and in-app notifications. We are also in communication with our partners and local governments to ensure riders know the precautions we are taking for their safety.
Spin is transforming cities and communities by offering accessible, affordable and sustainable forms of personal mobility.
